Lenten recipe: garlic pizza with olive oil and spices - foto 1735

Many people associate the Lenten menu with monotonous, fresh food. However, with the right ingredients, you can cook almost any food from a regular diet. An excellent option for such food would be a lean pizza with spices.


For the test:

  • 130 grams of bread flour;
  • 170 grams of wheat flour;
  • 215 g of warm water;
  • 1 tsp dry high-speed yeast;
  • 0.5 tsp honey;
  • 1.5 tsp olive oil;
  • ¾ tsp salt.

For filling:

  • 2 finely chopped garlic cloves;
  • 30 grams of extra virgin olive oil;
  • 0.5 tsp. dried oregano;
  • 0.25 tsp. chili flakes;
  • ⅙ tsp salt.

Step-by-step recipe

Step 1 - prepare the lean dough

Combine two types of flour. In another bowl, place the yeast, honey, olive oil, water and mix the mixture well. Then add ⅓ of the total amount of flour there and beat the ingredients with a mixer at low speed until a homogeneous mass. Cover the bowl with foil and leave the brew in a warm place for 20 minutes. Add the rest of the flour, salt and mix the mass again with a blender at medium speed for 4 minutes or manually about 10-12 minutes. Cover the pizza dough with film and leave for half an hour to approach.

Step 2 - preparation of cakes

Divide the dough into two equal parts. Form flat balls from each piece and place them on a baking sheet. Spread the dough evenly with your fingers on all sides to make two round discs. Cover the tortillas with a towel and leave in a warm place for another 45 minutes - they will fit again a little.

Step 3 - Prepare the Filling

Mix garlic, olive oil and spices. Apply the filling evenly on round dough disks, leaving 1 cm on the edge of the cake blank.

Step 4 - Bake Pizza

Place the cakes in the oven preheated to 300 degrees and bake for 7-10 minutes until golden brown. Remove the pizza and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
